Spring Cleaning Tips and Tricks

It's that time again: spring cleaning is right around the corner. Try these six helpful tips so you can enjoy your family's upcoming spring plans!

Rather than dedicating an entire day to cleaning your house, try tidying for just a few minutes each day. This way, it won't feel like a lengthy chore, and your house will progressively get cleaner! You won't believe how much you can clean and organize in just 15 minutes.

Clean out those stains in your microwave! Place a microwave safe bowl filled halfway with water and lemon juice, and run it on high for 5 - 10 minutes. After the bowl cools down, remove it and wipe down the inside of your microwave. Want to continue to keep it clean? Make sure there's a cover over your food!

To keep your clutter to a minimum: every time you go to a new room, try taking something with you that belongs where you're going! You won't feel like you're cleaning, but in actuality, you'll be organizing your clutter, or even discovering things that you can donate. Have your kids help with this project too - it'll even help keep their rooms tidy. The more you practice this, the faster the mess will disappear.

You can even clean without actually cleaning: just fill a ziplock bag with white vinegar and tie it to your shower head overnight. In the morning, all the residue will be gone. Cleaner showers with little effort!

As you're cooking, try cleaning as you go. There will undoubtedly be downtimes while you wait for your food to cook, so try putting things away or washing some dishes to stay organized. This makes less mess to clean up afterwards, and you'll still be productive as your food cooks!

Here's a tip for your closet: Turn all of your hangers so they're facing one direction. As you wear each piece of clothing, turn the hanger the opposite direction. By the end of the year, you'll discover what pieces you love to wear the most, and which ones you can live without. Donate the unworn clothes, and then start the whole process again!
