Spruce Up Your Guest Bedroom
Do you have a guest bedroom in your home that you tend to neglect? Let’s spruce it up! There are plenty of ways you can add some TLC to it. And the best part is you can do it without breaking the bank! Adding a few features to your guest bedroom will make your home more inviting and give your guests a more comfortable stay.
Now you may be wondering, "well how do I do this?"
First off, begin by brightening up the room. Having a dark room not only makes the room feel smaller, but it’s also a little depressing. I don’t know about you, but I certainly don’t want my guests to feel gloomy or depressed in my home.
If you have dark walls, paint them a bright color. You can go for white, a light grey, or both. If there’s a big window, let the light in! Get light curtains and make sure to keep them open throughout the day.
If you have a smaller window, you can add a large mirror or a few small ones that will reflect the light and make the room seem bigger and brighter. After you’ve taken care of the natural lighting, check your light fixtures and light bulbs so you have bright lighting when the sun is absent.
Next, you’re going to want to contrast. Yes, the brightness is amazing, but let’s give it some balance, shall we? You’re going to want a few darker pieces added to the room.
Remember, we’re not trying to make the room dark, just making it a little easier on the eyes. Whether it’s a throw rug, a dark dresser, or your wall décor, just be sure it stands out.
Finally, you can customize the room. If you’re a do-it-yourself-er, you’re going to love this part. This can go hand in hand with contrasting the room. If the furniture you already have isn’t in too bad shape or you simply can’t afford to replace it, you can always remake it. Sand it down, repaint it, stain it, refurbish it, do whatever you do best.
The possibilities are endless!
