Memorial Day Holiday- Graduation & Celebrations

Memorial Day is arriving fast along with all of the celebrations that come with it every year. It’s about the time of year when everyone goes out of town to visit family, for graduation, or even just a getaway out of town.

Before I get into that, I want take a moment to acknowledge the reason why we celebrate Memorial day in the first place and thank the brave men and women who serve and have served our country.

As the grills fire up and the celebrations begin, I have a few tips for you to make your festivities even more patriotic.

You know those tasty desserts we all love so much? Now’s a great time to gather the kids together and make an evening of baking while using our favorite colors to decorate. (Hint: They’re red, white, and blue).

Adding the tiny details such as colored frosting, sprinkles, and even candy can make all the difference. (Remember to use our favorite colors). You can go a step further and buy those cute miniature American flags they sell on toothpicks to insert into your cakes or cupcakes. Speaking of cupcakes, they have patriotic cupcake sheets, too!

To top off all the excitement for this weekend, people are graduating! Graduation is a great accomplishment and milestone in someone’s life so why not celebrate? There’s a lot of blood, sweat, and tears that go into reaching graduation. (Probably more tears than blood and sweat… hopefully).

If this is the case for you, your decorations might not be all red, white, and blue. Typically, graduation celebrations follow the color scheme of the school from which the student has graduated. Makes sense, right? Lucky enough for you, everything that I’ve listed above are available in those colors as well! So don’t feel limited by any means.

This weekend is sure to be full of excitement with friends and family. Again, let’s not forget the reason why we’re celebrating.

How are you planning to celebrate this holiday? Leave a comment below, I’d love to hear from you.
